How to fill a massive visual pan-format canvas 60-feet wide by 20-feet high? Blackbox Communications met that challenge during the development of a recent product conference. Ultimately, the strategic solution combined real-life drama and high definition video to empathize with the day-in, day-out issues faced by many attendees, and reinforce key messaging.
Assembling a cast of 12 professional actors, Blackbox Communications recreated the boardroom and office settings of a modern organization to create documentary-inspired videos. Guided by scripts created during the Blackbox strategic and content collection process, the high definition video crew undertook a two-day on-location shoot. Over the next four weeks, that raw footage was transformed into a series of five unique videos that took over every available square inch of the pan-format canvas.
Blackbox production idea: Mix live talent and high definition video
As if a 60-foot wide screen wasn’t enough, Blackbox Communications found a way to integrate live talent with high definition video to create a complete, immersive experience for attendees.
During the conference, two longer-form videos were preceded by monologues delivered by the key actor appearing in each of the videos. Each actor delivered that monologue within a custom-built satellite stage from a custom-fabricated fibre optic intelligent lighting display to better command and retain attention.
